Welcome to STK Malbec Mondays where the best red is poured and offered to guest at 1/2 off the bottle when a steak is ordered. I was able to attend this wonderful event at STK Midtown in Atlanta GA. If you are in the Metro Atlanta area STK is a must…… The ambiance, the soft playing music and lets not forget the incredible staff that encompass this establishment. I am greeted by the AGM Davi-Alex Steele and directed to my table. The table so elegantly dressed with wine glasses and white cloth napkins. My server Adam approaches the table with a bottle of tonight’s featured wine, Terrazas de los Andes Malbec. I receive a sample pour so that I may swirl the wine around and take in the wonderful aroma then wait for the aromatic notes that will tickle my palate. A nod of approval to Adam as I swallow what is so smooth and inviting.
I sit and chat with my dinner quest and see Adam approaching the table with what looks to be appetizers. We start with BABY GEM LETTUCE CAESAR, BIGEYE TUNA TARTARE raw bigeye tuna – hass avocado – soy-honey emulsion, & LIL’ BRGS wagyu beef sliders – special sauce – sesame seed bun. Every plate arrives so beautifully dressed. I gaze at the presentation that is before me with anticipation on what my taste buds are to expect. I take my first bite of the Cesar Salad and smile at the wonderful flavors of anchovy and parmesan that dance around my mouth. I now try the Tuna that brought Avacado in tow. I reach for a Tarro chip and take a small scoop of the dish that has been bathed in a soy-honey emulsion.
Adam is back to check on our progress as we inform him how pleasantly pleased we are with what we have had a chance to experienced thus far. I sip more wine and notice how this incredible wine pairs perfectly with every bite of whatever I decide to eat.
Adam has arrived with yet more surprises. We are now graced with KING SALMON with a fregola – succotash – corn purée – red endive jam, FILET 6o z topped with Diver Scallops, MAC & CHEESE , & ROASTED CAULIFLOWER.
My guest and I dig in and I start with the Salmon so sweet and tender. With the slightest touch, it flakes like a pro. The Corn purée so smooth with the Israeli Cous-Cous by its side. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crunch left to feel as if you are eating it straight from your garden. The Mac & Cheese decadent in all of its cheesy glory, and last but certainly not least the Filet that I left for my guest to indulge in for I am not a carnivore…….
There is more wine to be poured and desert is on the way. Adam is back with what looks to be doughnuts. He introduces the Fried Sweet Potato Doughnuts, a great way to conclude our magnificent dinner for tonight. If you have yet to make your way to STK, I strongly suggest that you do so soon. Be sure to ask for the best server in town “Adam” and let him know that Rochelle sent you.
