Chef Juan Montier is an amazing artist and he can burn too. I was invited to a behind the scenes cocktail party for the up and coming TV show the Dinner Architect that will premier on AIB TV December 13th at 9:30 PM. We are all so proud of Juan and Judith and all that they do together as a team.
The night begins with cocktails and a lot of meeting new people. I am always excited to meet more like minded people like me who enjoy the delectable taste that our local chefs bring to the table. Tonight Chef Juan has prepared several small bites just to give us a sample of what his true talents are made of.
I browse the room and take in all that this beautiful venue has. There are quilts and old sewing machines scattered around and soon I realize that I am in the NAMES Project Foundation which is a special place that focuses on the AIDS memorial quilt. The brick walls and hardwood flooring bring a warm feel to the place where we have all gathered to celebrate this huge accomplishment of Chef Juan.
Passing trays are floating around the building with samples of such things like Quail and Tuna Tar Tar. Soon we will be graced with tiny deserts that are seasonal like Sweet Potato Pie. We sit to watch a film on how this all started. Chef Juan is an architect by trade and his love for food took him into the realm of the culinary world. He now uses both talents and sketches out all of his food prior to preparing it. His work is remarkable and his food is delicious. His wife Judith seems to be the oil of this engine. She has the task of planning and decorating whenever there is an event.
We had the pleasure to see them in action on one video that showed us a Valentine Pop-Up that they hosted at Bloomingdales. The guest were so pleased with the food they were served as well as the fashion show that the company held while the guest ate. This has since become an annual thing for Chef Juan and it’s a good thing because what we were told is that a lot of love goes into those Valentine meals and is transferred to the guest who consume it. Weddings have been planned due to these wonderful meals.
I am so happy and equally as proud of Juan and Judith Montier for their accomplishments and wish them well on their future endeavors. I am anxious to see the premier of The Dinner Architect and all that Chef Juan will bring to the table. Many thanks to your team of wonderful host and the sponsors who showed up and showed out. I look forward to the future of The Dinner Architect.
