Now in its 12th year, Doggies on the Catwalk Foundation has evolved tremendously. This annual event can host up to 500 guest in attendance. This amazing event has raised thousands in funds over the past 12 years and will continue to do so in the years to come. The foundation benefits various pet based non-profit organizations.
This years event was sponsored by Greenberg-Traurig Law Firm, Saks Fifth Avenue, Mercedes Benz of Buckhead, Veronica Flam Interiors, Harry Norman, Atlanta Pet Life, Click Models of Atlanta, Simply Buckhead Magazine and the Macallan.
What I love the most is that this foundation supports those who are making a difference in the lives of those living with disabilities and animals in need.
As I take a moment to tell you all about the event, let me start by saying that this is a MUST attend next year for all.
I was in awe with the service dogs as well as their care takers. These amazing creatures are so well trained and smart to boot. The event started with the announcement of those with disabilities and their canine companions. This was such a heart felt moment where we could feel compassion about the lives that these individual lead and how their canine companions assist them on a daily basis. As I look around the room, I can’t help but notice the tears flowing from many eyes as the dogs and their caretakers hit the catwalk.
There was light bites as well as a couple of bars mixing up great tasting cocktails. As I walked around, I found myself running into cute puppies in training and adult dogs who have been trained and placed into loving homes as service companions.
The bidding has begun and it starts at $2500. No one bats an eye as they begin to pull out credit cards to be the first to donate on this special night of giving. All donations made will benefit the service dogs and their needs. Vet bills etc…. I was excited to make my donation knowing it was going to a great cause.
The fashion show has begun and the music is being mixed up by the DJ. I take my seat and begin to admire the couture that’s on display. Long legs headed down the catwalk strutting their stuff in high end fashion. As the show closes everyone gathers to catch up with those who are veterans to this affair and those who are not.
I look forward to another year of Doggies on the Catwalk 2020, hope to see you there.
Many thanks to Caren West PR for allowing me to experience an amazing night of giving and love.
